Badminton Wales to increase its commitment to Masters badminton in Wales.

At its January 2023 meeting the Badminton Wales Board agreed to increase its commitment to the development of Masters badminton in Wales.

Masters badminton in Wales will gain the benefits of increased profile, greater integration and potential additional resource.

At the meeting, Board Member Sian Elvis was appointed to chair a new Badminton Wales Masters sub-committee made up of Board and non-Board members. The sub-committee will be set up in the coming weeks and will develop a plan of Masters activity that will run from September 2023 onwards.

In the short-term, the only Masters event that will be run or supported by Badminton Wales will be the Badminton Wales Masters Nationals to be held on 14th May. This enables the new sub-committee to focus on establishing clear policies and plans to be implemented from September 2023.

We are aware that in the short term activities may be organised independent of Badminton Wales, and will continue to encourage all organisers of such activity, to express an interest in becoming part of the new Badminton Wales Masters sub-committee.
