Coach Education CPD Opportunity
The weekend of 3/4 th August, Badminton Wales will also host its first specific Coaching Collective – Coach Development workshop.
Workshop: The *Observation* of Performance (Saturday 3rd August AM)
Brief: When we observe sporting performance (any level), we do so against agreed sets of criteria and/or standards. The aim of this workshop, is to think more critically about our own observations of sporting performance in relation to these standards.
The workshop will be delivered by Mike Castle.
Mike Castle is a Learning Developer at Cardiff Metropolitan University where he is also Head Coach of the BUCS Tennis programme.
Mike is a Senior Performance Coach (Level 4) with the Lawn Tennis Association, and holds a Doctorate in Sport Coaching from Cardiff Met, as well as an MSc and BSc (Hons) in Sport Performance Analysis and Sport Coaching respectively.
Mike now works with Sport Wales and colleagues across Wales as a Coach Developer, supporting the development of coaches on the performance pathways of a variety of sports.
There will be a cost of £5 to attend this course, with all funds raised going directly in to the Coach Education pot for future development.
Details of times and how to register will be published closer to the date.
Sport needs Role Models. We often see “Performance Players” as one type however, the Coach will have a far bigger influence on far more people. They are the most important Role Model.
It is time to start valuing the role of the coach more highly.
