As we are a not-for-profit membership organisation, every penny of your membership fee contributes to the sport you love, helping Badminton become better for everyone now and in the future. Your Badminton Wales membership keeps you safe, supported and helps you get the most out of playing Badminton.
2024/25 Membership & Affiliation Types
Junior Competitive Membership – Under 18 (£10)
For those members playing in junior clubs or competitions.
Senior Competitive Membership (£20)
For playing in affiliated leagues and tournaments.
Club Coach Membership (£30)
For individuals coaching in a club environment. All Badminton Wales Affiliated Coaches must have a recognised coaching qualification, BW DBS and Safeguarding certificate uploaded to the Sport 80 platform.
Social Membership (£5)
For all those who don’t play in competitive leagues but still want to receive the benefits of being in the Wales Badminton community.
Club Affiliation (£30 for the season)
For Clubs and groups playing in leagues or socially.
As a member you will have access to affiliated clubs and activity across Wales. You will be able to access discounts, member-only opportunities, insurance, and the support you need to have the best experience.

Membership FAQ
My club is affiliated, do I still need an individual membership?
Yes. Badminton Wales Club affiliation only covers the club. Members need to join Badminton Wales’ Individual Membership to be personally covered.
I don’t want to play matches or tournaments but still play in a club, do I still need a membership?
Yes. You can purchase a social player membership for £5 per year and access our membership benefits.
Do I have to buy my membership in August or September?
No. All individual memberships run for 12 months from the date of purchase.
Where does my membership fee go?
On top of the benefits listed here your membership fee supports our community and schools badminton projects, it ensures affiliated tournaments are supported by our operational team and helps fund the development of our talented young performance programme players.
Individual Membership is not just about the personal benefits. You’re helping the growth of our sport across Wales.
How Do I Become a Member?
Becoming a Badminton Wales member is easy, all you need to do is go to our membership platform Sport:80, sign up for a personal profile and purchase the membership type that fits you.
Individual members and club secretaries will need to create a new account using the correct personal information and then pay for their membership in the platform.
Registering a junior member
To build a Safer Sport, we need to ensure that junior players are registered by their parent or guardian.
Follow these steps to register a junior.
- Create a parent/guardian profile for the adult.
- Select “My Athletes”.
- Select “Add new athlete” and enter the player’s details.
- Follow the video below to purchase their membership.
