Board Director Opportunities
Badminton Wales is the National Governing Body for badminton in Wales, formed in 1928 and proudly approaching its centenary in 2028. We lead the governance, development and promotion of badminton across the country — from grassroots participation and community clubs to performance pathways and international representation.
Following a significant period of modernisation and governance reform, our Board is now one of the most progressive and dynamic within Welsh sport. Directors work collectively to provide strategic leadership, robust oversight and a clear focus on integrity, inclusion and long‑term sustainability.
We are seeking committed, skilled and values‑driven individuals to join our Board of Directors. These voluntary roles offer a meaningful opportunity to influence the future of sport in Wales and contribute professional expertise at a strategic level.

Volunteering Opportunities
Opportunities to volunteer with Badminton Wales are always coming up. Our volunteers are an integral part of our team and play a vital role in making badminton possible across Wales. From line judges and ambassadors to tournament helpers and media assistants — our volunteers are the lifeblood of our events and activities.
With the Welsh International Challenge just around the corner, we are particularly keen to hear from individuals who would like to be involved in one of the highlight events in the badminton calendar.
The tournament takes place in November each year. If you would like to be courtside for some of the best badminton of the year and be part of a passionate, supportive team, we would love to hear from you.
Current volunteering opportunities include:
- General event support – assisting with event operations, selling Welsh kit and interacting with the public.
- Media assistants – supporting event promotion before and during the tournament across platforms such as X (Twitter), Instagram and Facebook.
