Stage 1 – Club Coaching
Start your coaching journey with the Community Coaching Course, designed for individuals with basic badminton experience. This course incorporates BWF Shuttle Time content and essential guidance on starting and managing a badminton club.
- Ideal for aspiring coaches ready to take their first step.
- Registration available via the Sport 80 app upon course completion.
- Club Secretaries or individuals can manage records and certification.
- All volunteer Community Coaches within affiliated clubs are covered by Badminton Wales insurance.
Stage 2 – BWF Coach Education
Badminton Wales proudly partners with the Badminton World Federation (BWF) to deliver internationally recognised coaching qualifications. Please note: UKCC and BWF qualifications are not equivalent.
BWF Level 1 Coaching Course
- Equivalent to UKCC Level 2.
- Suitable for coaches with prior experience.
- Entry available for those with UKCC Level 1/2 or equivalent qualifications (within the last 5 years).
- BWF Shuttle Time course is strongly recommended for all applicants.
BWF Level 2 Coaching Course
- Advanced training for coaches working with Olympic and Paralympic athletes.
- Focuses on high-performance development and elite coaching strategies.
BWF Level 3 Coaching Course
- Currently not available in Wales.
