Key Entry Regulations
General Requirements
- Must be a registered member with Badminton Wales to enter.
- Must have a valid membership number before application.
- Must be in good standing (e.g., no outstanding debts).
- All requests must be submitted exclusively via the Sport80 platform.
Fees & Payments
- An administrative fee of £25 is charged per tournament entry, which includes travel insurance.
- All entry fees must be settled within 2 months post-tournament.
- Entry fees will not be refunded in the case of a withdrawal.
Withdrawals & Penalties
- Late withdrawals (after the Monday preceding the draw) incur a penalty of US$150.
- Failing to show up for a match without a formal withdrawal incurs penalties.
- Players are fully responsible for settling any personal penalties or fines obtained.
Event Management
- Players must act as their own "Manager" (e.g., attending Team Managers' Meetings).
- Independent players can group together to nominate a single Welsh manager.
- Travel insurance coverage is provided as part of your entry admin fee.

Sport80 Entry Instructions
Entry into a Sanctioned International Tournament can only be done by Badminton Wales via the BWF "Registered Player for Entry" process.
- Log in to the Badminton Wales Sport80 platform.
- Navigate to the International Entry Service menu item.
- Select the specific international tournament you wish to enter.
- Submit your entry request at least 3 weeks in advance of the closing date.
- Badminton Wales will process the entry and forward your confirmation/receipt.
Anti-Doping Information
Badminton Wales actively supports clean sport and adheres to all UKAD rules:
- Any player entering a tournament via Badminton Wales may be submitted to UKAD for their records and is eligible for testing.
- Players agree to abide by all Anti-Doping regulations and rules as detailed by UKAD.
- Athletes must cooperate fully with Code-compliant anti-doping investigations and proceedings.
- To withdraw from the Performance Pathway, athletes must inform the Designated Anti-Doping Lead in writing.

Badminton Wales: Entering International Competition Policy
1. Introduction
This document outlines the regulations and procedures for Badminton Wales athletes wishing to enter international competitions. All entries must be processed through the BWF "Registered Player for Entry" system via Badminton Wales.
2. Entry Process & Requirements
All entry requests must be submitted exclusively via the Badminton Wales Sport80 platform under the "International Entry Service" section. Athletes must hold a valid Badminton Wales Competitive membership and be in good standing (e.g., no outstanding debts). Entries must be submitted at least 3 weeks prior to the tournament's closing date. Badminton Wales is not liable for missed entry deadlines if this timeline is not strictly adhered to.
3. Fees & Payments
An administrative fee of £25 is charged per tournament entry. This fee includes comprehensive travel insurance coverage for the duration of the event. All standard tournament entry fees must be settled in full within 2 months following the conclusion of the tournament. Please note that entry fees will not be refunded under any circumstances in the event of a withdrawal.
4. Withdrawals & Penalties
Late withdrawals (defined as withdrawing after the Monday preceding the tournament draw) will incur a standard BWF penalty of US$150. Failing to appear for a scheduled match without executing a formal withdrawal will result in further penalties. Players are strictly and fully responsible for settling any personal penalties, fines, or disciplinary actions obtained during international competition.
5. Player Responsibilities & Event Management
Athletes travelling independently must act as their own "Manager" throughout the tournament. This includes mandatory attendance at the Team Managers' Meetings. Independent players from Wales may group together to nominate a single representative to act as the Welsh manager for the duration of the event.
6. Anti-Doping Regulations
Badminton Wales actively supports clean sport and fully complies with UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) rules. Any player entering a tournament via Badminton Wales is subject to UKAD regulations, may have their details submitted to UKAD for record-keeping, and is eligible for testing at any time. Athletes must cooperate fully with any Code-compliant anti-doping investigations and proceedings.
