Player Gradings

Player grades have now been separated into Singles and Doubles/Mixed categories. Consequently, each player will hold an individual grade for Singles alongside a distinct grade for the two doubles disciplines. For example, a player may now be graded E for Doubles/Mixed, but F for Singles. Players are eligible for event selection and domestic circuit entries based on these respective discipline grades.

Grade Movements

Players have been adjusted across grades based on last season's results. With the introduction of split discipline gradings, some players may see a reduction in grade. These changes were made using past match data to foster balanced competition and increase participation, particularly within Singles events.

Appeals Process

If you feel a grade movement is incorrect, you may appeal your grade at any point during the season in accordance with regulations. To submit an appeal, please email Joshua.hart@badminton.wales with the following details:

  • Full Name
  • Current Grade
  • Suggested Grade
  • Reasoning for the appeal

All requests will be reviewed by the Graded Committee and adjusted where appropriate.
