Over the last few years Welsh Badminton has been making a big effort to update its colourful history and it is this initiative that has brought us to the exciting opportunity for all of us Senior Welsh Ex-internationals to get together again at the a 2nd reunion.
Lyndon Williams, Peter Hybart and Phil Sutton felt it was appropriate to keep things informal again and once again build the event around the Welsh International Championships in December this year, Friday the 1st / Saturday 2nd to be exact.
The rough plan for the day is to gather from lunchtime (pub), then spend some time watching the Event at Sport Wales, attend an official BW presentation and then return to the essential social aspect.
Saturday will be the Finals, along with another opportunity to catch up and join in with additional ex-player activities.
At this point what we really want you to do is put the date in the diary, book some time off and see if you can come along, even if it’s for just a short time on the day.
Approximately 180 players have represented Wales at Senior International level since 1928 and we think approx. 90 are still with us. We have found around 50 so far.
We are aware that many of the players will have moved away from Wales and will be living in other parts of the world, especially in England, so if you know of any Welsh players near you, still playing or not!! Please share this or contact us with their details.
