Following outstanding progress in recent years, we now have a strong foundation to focus our resources. Our dual strategic priorities to 2030 are clear: rebuilding performance in badminton through coaching our juniors, and increasing our financial independence.

Strategic Priorities to 2030
Partners & Funding
Financial Sustainability
We aim to diversify income streams, reducing our reliance on single funders. By 2030, our vision is to shift our funding ratio from 80:20 to 60:40 (Sport Wales vs. Self-Generated Income).
Governance & Responsibility
We will enhance safeguarding (child and adult), embed inclusive practices (EDI), and work towards our INSport ambitions to ensure our environments are safe and accessible.
Members & Volunteers
The Lifeblood of the Sport
Our ambition is to double our volunteer base at club, league, county, and national levels. This is critical to meeting the high demand for our sport.
We will recruit, develop, and reward technical officials (umpires, line judges, and administrators) and continue to strengthen our links with the youth section of our membership.

Rebuilding Performance
Junior demand is high. To meet it, we must heavily recruit and upskill coaches, specifically targeting those who wish to work at a community level and introduce badminton to children.
The Strategic "Tube Map"
We will implement a 5-phase pathway: Engage & Inspire (Youth Leaders, Schools), Build Capacity (Clubs & Coaches), Connect Delivery (Junior Series), Progress & Perform (Aspire/Rising Stars), and Sustain & Recognise (Awards Gala).
Senior Badminton
Structured Competition
Building on the success of Graded Badminton, we will develop a robust senior structure shaped by Leagues, Counties, and Badminton Wales to increase the volume and standard of play.
We will actively provide current senior players with opportunities to transition their credible playing experience into coaching and mentoring roles.
Masters Development
Domestic & International Growth
We will embed a Welsh Masters Series (North/West), a County Championship, and a County League. Internationally, we will field teams for the European Nations Cup.
2030 Vision
Our ultimate goal for the Masters community is to secure sponsorship and host a commercially viable Welsh Masters Open by 2030.
Elite Performance
Major Events & Pathways
We will support our athletes' journeys to major events, including the Olympics, and seek to increase Welsh representation within GB programmes.
We will support the Rising Stars pathway, expand our network of High Impact Performance coaches, and establish a dedicated Badminton Wales Performance Hub for excellence.
