As you may well be aware the next 4 Nations Graded International event will be 19 & 20 August 2023, at the Sir Craig Reedie Centre in Glasgow. Selection for the event is based on the 4 Graded events that have been held in Deeside, Ebbw Vale, Cardiff and Swansea plus attendance at the Graded National Squads and National events.
The Graded International comprises four different teams based on the Badminton Scotland Grading allocation of E,F,G and H. There is a maximum team number of 4+4 (1 MS 1 WS 1 MD 1 WD 1 XD). Individuals selected MUST be Badminton Wales’ members; they usually play 1 event in all three matches ie players selected will play 1 discipline only. Eg Team 1, XD only. This will maximise the number of playing opportunities for participants.
The Graded International is a self-funded event and logistics will need to be administered internally by each Team. There will be no Underage Safe-guarding officer appointed by BW and as such, this event will be for players aged 18 or over on the 18th August 2023. All players will be officially “capped” and recognised by Badminton Wales.
