Badminton Wales is the National Governing Body for Wales, formed in 1928 and has a rich heritage being one of only eight founding members of World Badminton, centenary in 2028. However, despite being proud of our history we are not an organisation that dwells on the past.
Badminton Wales Community consists of the Board of Directors, Sub Committees, Operational Team and network of competitive clubs, social clubs, coaches, volunteers and members throughout the country, responsible for all aspects of the sport, from grassroots participation to performance.

The Business Development Executive is an exciting new role within Badminton Wales, playing a key part in driving commercial growth, developing partnership opportunities, and maintaining strong external relationships that support the organisation’s strategy and objectives.

Commercial Partnerships
Lead the development and delivery of partnership and sponsorship opportunities for Badminton Wales, from prospecting and outreach through to negotiation, contracting, activation, and long term growth.
Partnerships Strategy
Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to shape compelling partnerships that align with the organisation’s vision, digital priorities, and growth objectives.
Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with businesses, community partners, organisations, and key stakeholders to position Badminton Wales at the forefront of commercial opportunity.
What you will do
The Business Development Executive will help identify, build and manage meaningful partnerships that support the objectives of the post and the wider organisation.
- Identify, research, and develop potential partners aligned with Badminton Wales strategy, including digital priorities.
- Create compelling partnership pitches, proposals, and value propositions.
- Lead sales conversations and support negotiation of terms, ensuring proposals and agreements follow agreed reporting, approval, and sign off processes.
- Build and manage a robust partnership pipeline, maintaining regular reporting to the Digital Lead on progress, risks, and proposed commitments.
- Act as the primary point of contact for partners, maintaining regular communication to monitor satisfaction, resolve issues, and identify opportunities for growth.
- Ensure partnership deliverables are clearly defined, documented, tracked, and delivered on time and within budget in collaboration with the Digital Lead and operational team.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on partnership performance against KPIs and contractual obligations.
- Contribute partner insights and feedback to support the ongoing development of digital and partnership strategy, service improvements, innovation, and optimisation.
- Track market, competitor, and industry trends to identify potential new partnerships and growth opportunities.
- Comply with Badminton Wales policies and procedures, including confidentiality requirements and expectations relating to day to day business.
- Undertake other duties appropriate to the role, as required to support the objectives of the post or as directed by the Digital Lead.
