Welsh High Impact Coaching Team Project

Introduction

Badminton Wales recognise that coaches and coaching are critical to the future success of our sport. Alongside our programme of coach education, we are delighted to be able to announce a new and exciting initiative designed to provide a unique opportunity for a number of coaches with the ambition and personal characteristics to coach and support the most talented and highest performing players.

The aim of this initiative will be to provide a thought provoking and insightful experience into what it takes to develop the most talented individuals to be able to compete on the world stage. Our goal is to develop skills and understanding to be a high performing coach on a daily basis in a variety of circumstances. These circumstances will include preparing players for major events or leading a team through challenging situations under significant pressure.

Lasting 12 months the successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with and access a diverse range of people who have extensive experience of delivering success at the highest level, whether that be an Olympic athlete, world class coach or a proven and respected leader. This initiative will include practical, individual and group tasks designed to explore diverse ways of working and behaviours that can broaden the possibilities to get the best out of people. As such, it represents significant investment and commitment by Badminton Wales and will demand the same from those selected to take part.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for enthusiastic, open-minded individuals who are ambitious to explore their capabilities, and enhance their ability to connect with and get the best from players who have the potential to perform on the world stage. 1. Currently developing or has developed in the past players who have gone on to compete internationally.
